Fortinet End-of-Support dates

For Fortinet hardware, ArkhiNet looks up each device’s End-of-Support (EoS) date and shows it next to the device, so you can see at a glance which FortiGates, FortiSwitches and FortiAPs are due for replacement. There’s nothing to set up: enter the model and the date appears.

When ArkhiNet starts, it downloads Fortinet’s public hardware lifecycle feed from https://support.fortinet.com/rss/Hardware.xml, once per launch. The matching against your inventory happens on your PC. ArkhiNet only downloads the feed and sends none of your inventory to Fortinet or anyone else.

If the download fails, for example when you’re offline, ArkhiNet carries on without EoS dates and doesn’t show an error. Restart the app once you’re back online to load them.

The match uses the device’s DEVICE MODEL field. Case, spaces, hyphens, underscores and dots are ignored, and the long and short Fortinet prefixes are treated as the same thing. For example, FortiGate 100F, fortigate-100f and FG-100F all find the FortiGate 100F entry. The same applies to FortiSwitch (FSW), FortiAP (FAP), FortiWiFi (FWF), FortiAnalyzer (FAZ), FortiManager (FMG) and other Fortinet families.

A device shows no date when:

  • the model isn’t a Fortinet product, or isn’t in Fortinet’s feed
  • the model text doesn’t match Fortinet’s naming closely enough
  • Fortinet lists the End of Support as not applicable
  • the feed couldn’t be downloaded this session
Color Meaning
Gray End of Support is more than 12 months away
Amber End of Support is less than 12 months away
Red End of Support has passed (the Connect tab adds (expired))

Connect tab device card for NWL-TAC-FW01, a FortiGate 60F, with its Fortinet End-of-Support date shown at the top right

  • Connect tab: on the device card, at the top right, as EoS <date>. It’s part of the card’s details, so if you don’t see it, click the i button on the card to show details.
  • PDF inventory report: the End of Support column of each client’s device table uses the same colors.
  • Global Search: EoS dates are searchable, so typing a year in Ctrl+G lists the devices whose support ends that year. Matches carry an EoS: <date> tag. See Search the inventory.

The dates are looked up fresh each launch and are never written to your data file.
